MISSION ...
Followers of Christ are challenged to be strong citizens This further prompts us to partner with neighborhood civic organizations and faith-based organizations that draw similar goals. Our partnerships are important! Strategies on how to infuse dignity as well as bring aid to the neighboring poor are an important element to our structure. We recognize that with the renewal of Downtown, there are changes everywhere around us.
THAT LEADS TO FRIENDSHIPS ...
We develop Life Groups that meet in a coffee shop or similar personal setting. Life Groups are small groups of 10 or so adults in a similar place of life. It is recognized that many of us might not have experienced healthy role models of marriage or have the happiest memories while growing up. It is here within these groups that we rely on each other’s shared stories and collective experiences to give us inspiration to be healthy families and gain new perspectives.
Truth comes from the study of God's teachings. Together we lean against each other and foster healthy maturity within a trusted environment.
THAT BRING US INTO WORSHIP!
Worship is a place where we celebrate the One who is worthy of our praise. You will find our Worship space to be often out in the community to be experienced by the casual listener too. We seek out to activate available community space rather than separate ourselves in our own building. But note, we challenge ourselves to budget our own expenses low so that we, as a congregation, can regularily give large portions of our own offerings to mission endevours both local and global. It is our attitude to grow in generosity.
Matthew 10:40-42
Jesus said, “This is a large work I’ve called you into, but don’t be overwhelmed by it. It’s best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice.” The Message (MSG)
John 13:35, 36
Jesus said, "Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” The Message (MSG)
J. Oswald Sanders
"Worship is the loving ascription of praise to God for what he is in himself and in his providential dealings. It is the bowing of our innermost spirit before him in deepest humility and reverence. Worship is the adoring contemplation of God as he has been pleased to reveal himself in his son and in the Scriptures."
